Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque

Since my late teens, I have always had troublesome skin, But the main reason it was so angst-y was ALWAYS stress!  So whenever I’m extra busy and frazzled and don’t have a lot of spare time to have a complicated skincare regime, I always look to a facemask for some help.

Enter right on que the new Charcoal Rescue Masque from Dermalogica. I mean, even the name gives me hope.  Haha! This is a masque which delivers an immediate ‘pick me up’ and suits all skin types and conditions.

According to Dermalogica it tackles skin aging, dullness, breakouts and sensitivity – all things that become very obvious in my skin as soon as I don’t get enough sleep/water or just during the days that I am working around the clock.

I have never tried any products from Dermalogica before the Charcoal Rescue Masque, but it is a brand which has built up such a fantastic reputation over the past few years, so although I’m often a bit wary to try new skincare brands (due to sensitive skin), I knew my skin  was in very safe hands.

Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque gently but thoroughly  detoxifies skin by using:
·         Binchotan Charcoal powerfully absorbs impurities
·         Sulphur promotes cell turnover for dramatically brighter skin.
·         Volcanic Ash, Sea Silt, Bamboo Extract and alpha hydroxy acids further  accelerate skin brightening with dual-action exfoliation.
·         Niasinamide helps ease and heal congestion and calm the skin
·         Chilean White Mint refines pores.

As soon as I put this on my skin, I just knew it was going to make a difference. It’s dark green in colour (and has these tiny little white flecks in it. After just 2 seconds on your skin, it begins to harden – which made me feel like it was REALLY working! I left it on for about 8 minutes and then lightly massaged it off with wet hands to boost its exfoliation properties. After taking it all off, I just slapped on a bit of moisturizer and I already felt a million times better. My skin was healthy, fresh and kinda glowing – and I loved it.  This would be great if you were heading out for a night or an event and you wanted that extra oomph!

My skin is always in need of a little detox & refresh especially during the Summer months, So I’m looking forward to using this masque more regularly to get my skin in tip-top shape.

Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Masque is available online here at Dermalogica and John Lewis.

Father's Day Gift Guide 2016

It’s that time of year again where we come to show our appreciation of our Dads I know that I have said this before but I secretly dread buying presents for my Dad  (for any male as a matter of fact! )

So to make my life as stress free as possible coming up to June 19th, I have compiled a short Father’s Day Gift Guide that will put a smile on even the most fussy of faces out there.

I feel you can’t go wrong with the gift of a scent. If your father already has a signature scent then I’d stick with that! (if it ain’t broke and all that)
Or you feel he needs a fragrance upgrade then I have two scents that will please;

Hugo Boss BOSS The Scent
This spicy, powerful and full-bodied fragrance with notes of ginger and leather is the perfect addition to his aftershave collection.  You can find my full review here and find it here at Boots and John Lewis.

VIKTOR & ROLF Spicebomb
This grenade shaped flanker is a powerful explosion of spicy grapefruit, chilli, leather, pink pepper and cinnamon which will be ideal for his big nights out.  You can find it here at Boots and John Lewis.

Kiehl’s Facial Fuel
Your old man may have seen better days but a moisturiser is a great way to combat frinkles (fun induced wrinkles ). This vitamin-enriched moisturizer that uses a plethora of caring ingredients that stimulate the face, causing it to feel more refreshed and revitalized, it’s like a cold splash of water first thing in the morning. You can check out my full review here and find it here at Kiehl’s and John Lewis.

Daniel Wellington Watch
Probably the most evident of all male present ideas but for good reason. A watch can transform the whole feel of an outfit. The Daniel Wellington watches are fantastic as these classic and minimalist watches are suitable to wear with any outfit and for every occasion. You can take a look at my full review here and find it here at ASOS and Mankind.co.uk - who have 15% off when you spend £50! with the code MK1550

Apple Power Adapter with Folding Pins
If your Dad is like mine then he is a total techno phoebe but everyone these days needs to charge their phones at some point during the day. This power adapter with the pins that fold away is a fantastic idea. This is definitely not a gimmick – if your father travels a great deal then this is a live saver. It fits smoothly into a bag or pocket and you don’t have to worry about anything getting caught on the pins.  You can get your hands on one here at John Lewis.

So here are some ideas to inspire you this Father’s Day.
I’d love to hear your gift ideas for Father’s Day!

Armani Code Profumo

Every morning when I'm getting ready, I only feel completely ready to take on the world once I have spritzed my chosen scent on my neck and wrists. I then feel like I'm ready to leave the house. If I leave without a fragrance, I literally feel naked all day long!  We all have our go to fave scents, and today I'm going to tell you all about a new edition to my ever expanding collection of aftershaves...

Armani Code Ice has been a favourite of mine for years, it's one I used to wear and takes me back to my college days. Recently, I got my hands on their brand new edition, Armani Code Profumo*.

Profumo is an explosive new scent that exudes power and masculinity. The packaging is gorgeous, with its rose gold/copper lid and tinted warped glass body, representing the black of night.  You can feel the quality and stability within the design, embracing its addictive, powerful and magnetic scent.

I find that Armani Code Profumo is very reminiscent of 1 Million and Le Male; two stalwarts in my fragrance arsenal. But Profumo has top notes of mandarin, green apple and cardamom; a heart of orange blossom, lavender and nutmeg with a base of tonka bean, amber and leather.

Profumo is a sweet yet dark, fruity and musky fragrance. With its traditional aroma of the tonka bean, the use of cardamom and woody amber has intensified this fragrance, putting it in a whole other dimension. Profumo is a very intoxicating and compelling scent, which resembles evening attire, charm and seduction. The perfect evening/event fragrance. One spray will last you all day as it’s made of 20% essential oils!

Profumo is perfect for any occasion, formal dining or an evening with friends. If you're a fan of a spicy, woody and aromatic fragrance then this one is for you!

Armani Code Profumo is available online here at Boots, John Lewis and Fragrance Direct.
