Now to be
honest Janssen Cosmetics is a brand that I had never heard of. So here’s a
little background info on the brand; Janssen Cosmetics is an international professional
skincare company founded in Germany in 1997. It is committed to providing the
highest quality in cosmeceutical skincare using established pharmaceutical
practices while integrating a new generation of herbal and marine extracts
along with biotechnological ingredients.
I don’t know about
you but when I think about Germany, I think about their serious demeanour with
excellent scientific and engineering strengths.
So therefore I was intrigued to try out some German skincare; as I felt
it was going to simple and effective.
I checked out
the Energizing Hydro-Gel from the
Men’s range. The Energizing Hydro-Gel claims to help skin appear more attractive and
protects it from premature aging. Minerals and vitamins from the sea provide
much needed moisture. This Hydro-Gel is bursting with antioxidant
action that prevents premature aging but also anti-inflammatory properties to
soothe and repair. It is crammed with outstanding
skin beneficial ingredients, such as:
- Codium Tomentosum – is an Atlantic algae from the coast of Brittany, that is super rich in minerals, vitamins and trace elements that provide moisture and revitalization to skin.
- Hyaluronic acid – ahh the heavenly Hyaluronic acid that locks in moisture and is capable of holding 1000 times its own weight of water.
- Panthenol – or as it is more commonly known as Pro-Vitamin B5; this improves regeneration of the skin and helps build up the skin's own natural barrier. But also soothes any skin irritation.
- Vitamin E – a destroyer of free radicals; it protects against light induced aging.
Does it
work?
First of
all, I have to say this is truly a utilitarian product but I mean it in the
best way possible. There is no nonsense with the Energizing Hydro-Gel but it gets straight to work…
Secondly; This shiz is da bomb! When
I first tried I had a bit of sunburn on the top of my forehead; I had a haircut
and I bloody well had to burn along my hairline didn’t I?! But I applied this
and it magically removed any traces of redness and tenderness that I had. This had me won over alone! The texture of
the Energizing Hydro-Gel is more of
a thick lotion, I know it says a gel-cream, but it’s a tad too creamy. I find
on my skin, it’s personally too rich for day-time use but it is excellent at
night. It richly hydrates my skin but without being heavy or clogging my skin.
It doesn’t sink into the skin straight away but in 10 seconds, your skin has it
all slurped up. It is the perfect choice for year round hydration, as it
provides custom moisturise depending on skin’s demand. I love the way it helps regulate the moisture
balance of the skin in different environments (aka winter saviour!)
